Miami is colorful and has a vibrant life. It is cool and relaxing yet it can go quite wild. The place is one of those few that never fails to amaze me. On each visit, I find something different to do there. Last weekend, I once again visited the place with my husband. It was a fun-filled vacation with lots of new things to explore. We chose JetBlue Airways as its vacation packages are simply awesome. For travelers like me, JetBlue is convenient as we can get to book an entire holiday package at a great price. Also, the JetBlue cancellation policy allows us to cancel our tickets without any charge at times, except for the basic fare tickets.
Where We Stayed
As mentioned above, we selected our resort from the JetBlue website. We stayed at Fontainebleau Miami Beach. A five-star rated hotel, it is quite popular there. It is an old hotel that started in 1954 but its opulent amenities are world-class. The glamor and luxury of the resort attract a large number of tourists every year. To date, it has appeared in numerous TV shows and movies. Moreover, it has hosted many live events. We could spot many celebrities during our stay!
What We Did There
On our last visit, we could not explore the beaches quite well. It was summer at that time, and we had to deal with the dense sticky weather. This time we visited during spring and the beaches were alluring. The long stretch of white sandy beaches running alongside clear waters of the ocean is fabulous to watch. The South Beach with its famous lifeguards exhibited the iconic Miami look. The crowd there is vivacious. On the other hand, North Beach is serene and quiet. This time, we stayed on the quieter side of the beach by renting a “cabana” and chairs for $25.
As a tip, I would like to advise that beach hoppers should bring their supply of water and food. We didn’t find many options on the beach.
Being fans of history and architecture, we enjoyed visiting the estate owned by James Deering. The villa was built during the 1920s in Italian style. The fact that the owner loved throwing parties is reflected in the architecture. We found that the property has several guest rooms, where men and women used to stay during these parties.

Wynwood Art District
Indeed a must-visit place for street art lovers, the murals in the neighborhood are incredible. Some of them even extend to the sidewalks. The artworks have not just stayed limited to the Wynwood Walls, rather they continue for a couple of more blocks. Apart from the paintings, this area has something more to offer. It has the typical grungy hippy vibes. The bars and restaurants here are quite cool. We had some delicious Mexican tacos at a decent restaurant called Coyo Taco.
Miami Eat Outs
Miami has some brilliant restaurants. On the first day of our visit, we had a wonderful romantic dinner, under the starry night sky in “Cecconi’s”. We found another eating joint with a spacious seating area at “Time Out Market”. Here, we could explore a whole range of Miami cuisines. We also tasted some mouth-watering dishes at “Espanola Way”. The entire street is lined with a series of palm trees, with numerous bars and restaurants perched along the sides.
A visit to the beach remains incomplete without getting boozed. The bar cum restaurants offer a perfect setup for binge drinkers. We tried some amazing cocktails in the bars during the happy hours. Luckily, this enabled us to save money for more drinking.
Overall, we enjoyed going to the beaches and loved the food, the art, the architecture, and the cool grungy ambiance of the place. The vacation package offered by JetBlue was great. The flights booked were also on-schedule. We did not have to cancel and rebook new flights to arrive on time. Another reason behind choosing the airline is that it has a flexible JetBlue 24 hour cancellation feature. This cancelation policy ensures a full refund in case the tickets are booked and then canceled within 24 hours. These policies are for our convenience. But the availability of other services makes the airline even better.
